🏝️ Island Escapades: El Nido & Coron

My adventure began in El Nido, Palawan, renowned for its dramatic limestone cliffs and crystal-clear lagoons. Island hopping here was surreal; each stop unveiled secluded beaches, hidden lagoons, and vibrant coral reefs. The tranquility of Big Lagoon and the vibrant marine life at Shimizu Island were particularly memorable.

Next, I ventured to Coron, famous for its World War II shipwreck diving sites. Snorkeling in the turquoise waters of Kayangan Lake and exploring the Twin Lagoons offered a perfect blend of adventure and serenity.(Graphic Wanderlust)

🌊 Surfing and Serenity in Siargao

Siargao, the surfing capital of the Philippines, was a haven for both thrill-seekers and peace-lovers. While I didn’t surf, watching the surfers at Cloud 9 was exhilarating. The island’s laid-back vibe, coupled with its natural beauty, made it a perfect spot to unwind. Exploring the Sugba Lagoon and the Magpupungko Rock Pools added to the island’s charm.(Salt in our Hair Travel Blog)

πŸŒ„ Cultural Immersion in Banaue

Traveling north to Banaue, I was captivated by the ancient Ifugao Rice Terraces, often dubbed the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” Hiking through these UNESCO World Heritage sites offered not only breathtaking views but also a deep appreciation for the indigenous communities who have maintained these terraces for centuries.

πŸ™οΈ Urban Exploration in Manila

My journey concluded in Manila, the bustling capital. Exploring the historic Intramuros district provided insights into the country’s colonial past. The contrast between the old-world charm of San Agustin Church and the modernity of Bonifacio Global City showcased the Philippines’ dynamic evolution.

🍽️ Culinary Delights

Filipino cuisine was a delightful discovery. From savoring adobo and sinigang to indulging in street food like isaw and turon, each dish told a story of the country’s rich cultural tapestry. The warmth and hospitality of the locals made every meal even more special.
